2021 Façade Development of the State Archaeological Museum at Panchkula, Haryana

This competition entry presents a facade design proposal for the State Archaeological Museum in Panchkula, Haryana, inspired by the motifs, materials, and traditions of the Indus-Saraswati civilisation. The concept incorporates elements such as mud plaster, clay pots, jali work, ferrocement shells, and stained glass inspired by archaeological seals, creating a narrative-rich and climate-responsive design. The architecture blends local techniques and contemporary materiality by using suspended jalis, progressive arches, and filler walls to evoke history and ensure thermal comfort while visually celebrating the region’s heritage.

My contributions included detailed CAD drafting, collaborative conceptual development, and the literature review and contextual research. This ensured the design drew upon robust site analysis, material studies, and references to vernacular building traditions, supporting both technical clarity and the depth of historical storytelling in the proposal's visual and architectural language.
