This project is a comprehensive urban context analysis of Dharavi, Mumbai—one of the world’s largest informal settlements and a major hub for small-scale industries and recycling. The study examines Dharavi’s complex spatial organization, socioeconomic dynamics, environmental challenges, and community resilience, with the goal of informing inclusive, sustainable urban development. By analysing existing living conditions, infrastructure, and local economies, the project aims to identify pathways for improving quality of life and integrating informal settlements into the broader urban fabric.
